What do you know about Jamaica and Reggaeton’s origins? Akiel Griffith gives an informative and artistic talk about how Jamaica, New York and Panama influenced the inter-collaboration between many cultures. Learn how perseverance and struggle lead to art and a connected diaspora. Akiel Griffith, a director and content creator, and also a songwriter. His projects include Inner Circle, Skip Marley and Lil Pump, as well as many other top music artists today. 

He studied marketing at college and was able to work alongside Latin Grammy-nominated producer Fredy Carmelo. This producer is best known for his hit “Dia Tras Dia”, which Andres Cepeda performed. He has also been trained by Ill Factor, a platinum-selling producer and Grammy Nominated producer at SAE production courses. 

He learned new skills in filmmaking, music supervision and video production after completing SAE Institute. Most recently, he was the music supervisor for “The Power of Movement”, an Oscar-contingent film. Ajani is a combination of his marketing and multimedia skills. He aims to help artists tell stories through various media. This talk was delivered at a TEDx event that used the TED conference format, but was organized independently by a local community.
