So the other day I am in New York talking with the misses who happens to be in Kingston, Jamaica. She is complaining that she is having a rough day at work. She won’t have time to break for lunch and hungry a kill her. Let me think – what can I do to fix this?

Luckily, for me, there are quite a few places in Jamaica that delivers food from your favorite restaurant. Problem solved. All I have to do now is find one of these services, sign up and place a delivery.

This is just one way to utilize food delivery services in Jamaica. Of course, you can order food for yourself if you are in the delivery area and want to make use of the convenience.

Below is a list of food delivery services in Jamaica. I have personally used some of them and for the most part have been pleased with the services and convenience they offer. I have had a few unfortunate experiences which I will recount. However, I will not name the company. This is because I genuinely feel the issue was beyond the control of the delivery service.

How to Use:
Customers need to first set up an account online or by using the delivery service app. This prompts for name, address, and billing information.

Once an account is established, the customer can search by food or restaurant and browse the menu to decide what is being ordered. After deciding, hit “Add to Cart” then follow through with the checkout process.

Each food delivery service in Jamaica operates a little different but for the most part an estimated time of delivery is given. This is usually about 45 minutes to a hour. I have had instances where delivery was within 20 minutes, and as expected it could be as long as a hour and a half. This is based on my own personal experiences.

There have been two instances where my order was canceled after waiting beyond the estimated time. Imagine waiting a hour and a half, well hungry, only to get a call saying the delivery person went to the restaurant and they restaurant was already closed. This occurred during one of the lockdowns where Jamaica was on a full weekend curfew, so that played into the mayhem of the cancellation.

For the most part, the services have been good and I will be updating this space as I continue to expand my experiences with food delivery services in Jamaica.
