In seven weeks Jamaica’s national team will resume their World Cup berth but it appears without Theodore Whitmore as head cooach.
The Jamaica Football Federation announced on Thursday, December 9th that Whitmore’s services are no longer needed. Jamaica qualified for the World Cup in 1998 but presently is ranked sixth of eigth teams in the North and Central America and the Caribbean with seven points.
Whitmore, a former player for Jamaica and a goal scorer in the 1998 Reggae Boyz run took on a second stint of coaching duties of the national team in September 2016.
In the coming year, The Reggae Boyz will host Mexico on Jan. 27, and three days later will play Panama in an away game. They will return home to face Costa Rica on Feb. 2.
