Toshami Calvin which is the cousin of Toni Ann Singh who holds the 2019 Miss World title was crowned Miss Universe Jamaica 2022.
Saturday night, Miss Universe Jamaica 2021 Daena Soares crowned her in the Grand Ballroom of the AC Hotel Kingston. She was also awarded Best Evening Gown.
Calvin was chosen from among 20 finalists. Giajay Naturals Gift and Body Shop sponsored Calvin.
Miss WiPay Jamaica Shanique Singh finished third while Miss Millennium Paving Stones Ltd Rachel Silvera was 2nd.
Calvin will represent Jamaica in the Miss Universe pageant, which will take place in early 2023.
Miss Universe Jamaica Beauty, Fashion and Wellness Pageant began with a hair and makeup show by students from the Heart College of Beauty Services. This pageant showcased Jamaica’s true essence and featured performances by Sevana and Gemmyers. The semi-finalists danced to Ding Dong’s ‘Bounce’ earlier in the competition.
Most Photogenic was presented to Rachel Silvera, Shanique Singh and Toshami Calvin won the Essence of Fashion Award, Toshami Calvin won Best Evening Gown, Rachel Silvera won Best Swimwear, Miss Congeniality went to Kasey Graham and Top Altruism Project was presented to Zasha-Kae Denis
