KFC Jamaica has announced a price reduction for three of its chicken-on-the bone products.
The price adjustment was not stated by the company in dollars. Many Jamaicans took to social media to claim that the price reduction was $5.
Jamaica Broilers, a major supplier of chicken, made similar price cuts last month. Jamaica Broilers cut the price for a Grade A whole bird and its mixed parts by $12.50 per kg on the 18th of August.
The price reduction applies to the Chicken Box, 2 Piece Meal Deal, and 3 Piece Big Deal menu items.
KFC claims that there will not be a price drop on Zinger chicken sandwiches, Hot Wings Popcorn Chicken and Krispers.
According to the fast-food franchise, it is aware of how Jamaicans have been affected by rising prices. It says it made the decision to pass all savings from Jamaica Broilers’ reduction on to its customers.
KFC claims that even though the Jamaica Broilers reductions were minimal, this is a step in the right direction. According to KFC, the franchise expects more drastic reductions as the market stabilizes.
The company stated that it will continue to monitor the markets and share any additional benefits from supplier price reductions with customers.
