Christmas in Jamaica is highly anticipated and heavily celebrated. It is the season where everything is in top gear.

Best dressed clothes. Partying (even despite the advent of the pandemic). Not to mention the link up with family and friends, plus it goes without saying the food.

  1. My favorite Christmas memory is waking up to my Christmas stockings filled with goodies and sweets. My cousins and I used to put crackers and lasco on the veranda and my uncles would eat it and leave us notes pretending to be santa lol

  2. As a youngster it was waiting up the night before anticipating Christmas breakfast which was yam and dumplin and meat galore. Stew pork and chicken and such.

    Then as simple as it sounds Christmas Day was the only day we had access to unlimited D&G soda to drink at will. We get weh Christmas Day food wise.

My favorite Christmas memories in Jamaica is waiting on that doll as a little girl and knowing it would be Christmas before I can have it.. lol.. it’s growing up as a teenager and enjoy seeing the people in the community cleaning the streets, sidewalk, parks everything sparkling clean.. and extra pretty.. lol.. it could only be Christmas.. it’s waiting on the extra food breakfast, dinner.. lol.. it’s that Christmas cake, sorrel and pudding that you can’t wait to eat.. it’s enjoying family time… the street dance.. the love and togetherness of the community enjoying Christmas time🙏🏾❤️🇯🇲
